Groom Says He'd Marry Bride Even in a Trash Bag, She Puts It to the Test - Newsweek
A husband-to-be who lovingly told his bride he would marry her even if she walked down the aisle in a garbage bag had his vow put to the test when she did just that.
Wedding photographer Sarah Louise Coe, from the U.K., was recently working at the ceremony of couple Sarah and Gareth, who she described as a "lovely couple".
"They wanted a relaxed and fun ceremony with just parents and their children present," Coe, who runs Countless Captures Photography, told Newsweek.
A snapshot of Sarah and Gareth's big day has now spread far and wide, after Coe shared a brilliant moment to her TikTok account @countlesscaptures1.
It shows Gareth, waiting at the top of the aisle for his bride—and as he turns around to catch his first glimpse at her, he sees she is wearing a trash bag over her wedding dress.
Gareth then grins and begins laughing, as guests also catch the unique entrance on their phones.
"Watch as this bride makes a bold statement walking down the aisle in a unique bin bag dress," Coe wrote on the video, adding that the groom, of course, "said yes." "Bin bag" is the commonly used term in Britain for a trash bag.
She described it in the caption as "a wedding moment I won't forget".
And she explained to Newsweek: "The groom said to the bride he would marry her even if she was wearing a bin bag, and so she put that to the test!
"She wore the bin bag for the aisle walk for his reaction and then ripped it off at the end to reveal the dress."
TikTok users loved the clip, which has over 37,000 views, as one user wrote: "You could wear a bin bag and still look good! Point proven!"
Coe said: "It was a very intimate ceremony between them both, with raw emotions, and it was a pleasure for me to be a part of their day."
According to The Knot's 2023 Real Weddings Study, the average number of guests for weddings in 2023 was 115, with the average cost of the ceremony being $35,000.
Wedding photographers remain incredibly popular, with around 89 percent of couples hiring a photographer to capture their big day.
Some 80 percent of couples hired a caterer to create their cake, while 72 percent hired a DJ, and 65 percent made use of a florist to decorate their ceremony.
