You're probably putting your garbage bag in the trash bin wrong

One woman was stunned to find a trick to lining her garbage bin with a trash bag.

“I was today-years-old when I found out garbage bags come inside out in the box,” creator Sasha Dennocenzo wrote on TikTok, adding in the video’s caption that she now feels “dumb.”

She demonstrated the so-called hack in a viral clip with 9.4 million views, where she put the opening of the garbage bag around the lip of the can while it was “inside out,” then pushed the remainder of the bag into the can — no shaking required.

Viewers — who have been inundated with all the ways they’re doing life wrong, like washing jeans or pouring champagne — were stunned.

While some people argued that the bags aren’t inside out and that this is just a clever kitchen trick, others applauded Dennocenzo’s demonstration.

“At this point, I’m not sure I’m even breathing right since everything I’m doing is wrong,” one viewer quipped.

“Life needs to come with better instructions,” joked another.

“All these [years] of shaking it like a sheet in the air then putting it in the bottom,” wrote someone else.

“But the loud shake of the bag alerts my husband that he indeed did not take the trash out when I asked and I am doing it,” objected one person.

However, the home goods brand Hefty has previously debunked that this TikTok hack is the only correct way to line a trash bin.

“Can confirm: there’s no wrong way to line a trash bin,” they wrote on X in 2021.
